We are "finally" really underway in the building of our new home! Had a
number of delays...weather, the "mini-basement", etc. but we saw a LOT get done
over the past two weeks! I am amazed at the skill and speed of the framing
crew! The crew is made up of 6-8 Mexican carpenters, who do fabulous work!
I am not a builder/carpenter, but I think I would recognize shoddy work and what
I'm seeing in attention to details and their attitudes while working show me
they are true craftsmen. Ever wonder why American carpenters don't try
this hard?!? Anyways, the crew has done a fabulous job this week in
turning our "foundation" into the clear shape of a home...which has been VERY
exciting for Sue, Drema, and me to see. I could be totally happy about our
progress...if only we had a contract on our current home... but I believe God
will bring that into fruition soon, as we feel we are doing the right thing in
the building of our new home. Anyways, here are some photos I took today
of the progress since the foundation photos....

The "gazebo" roofed secition is the sitting room area of the main bedroom... in fact the entire right side of the house is the master bedroom, walk-in closets, and master bath...really cool room(s). |

On the right side is our "mini-basement" which will have double door entrance. It goes about 20 feet to the left. You can see the porch/deck floor and screened porch roof... the stairs will come off on the far left side of the deck. The room with the window above the basement is Sue's room and the door/windows onto the porch are from the breakfast room area. |

It is pleasant now, with no leaves on any of the trees...but know it's going to feel like we're in a forest when the leaves come in..... |
